August 2014 | We were very disappointed in our Calaway Park stay. We have season passes to Calaway but live near Red Deer so thought we would stay for 2 nights over the August long weekend. We were very disappointed at their no-fires policy, which included our propane pit we bought just for that trip (knowing that wood fires were not allowed, but they said when we got there the policy is no fires, period, not just wood fires).
We also had a bad experience on both nights with very loud neighbours until 1:30-2 am, they had close to 30 people on 2 sites, all in tents and were having quite the party that was never shut down (and with the sheer number of people we weren't comfortable asking them to quiet down).
Their 'gates locked' policy is very strict, if you arrive after the appointed time you will have to park outside and walk in. Part of the campground has some trees (no privacy but ok for shade), and part of the campground is wide open in a field. We won't be back to stay here. |

May 2011 | This is a great campground next door to Calaway Park and on minutes from Calgary. Very good place for the kids. |
