| All Comments and Ratings [1 / 5] June 2016 | This campground wasn't what we were expecting at all. Overall the campground is very run down and I would not recommend staying here. There are large potholes in the roadway throughout the campground causing a very difficult journey to and from the campsites with a travel trailer. The site we were assigned was completely dirt and weeds with no gravel at all. During the majority of our stay it rained and we were therefore camping in mud. The firepit was in the corner of the campsite very close to trees and brush. We were unable to use the lake for swimming or canoeing as it has blue-green algae. We did not allow our children to play on the very old and unsafe playground. The garbage can across from our site was not emptied in the 3 days we were camping. |
[1 / 5] June 2013 | We never got to actually stay at this campsite, because the staff was so unprofessional that we never got the booking taken care of. I sent an email asking if they had any cabins available for the night of June 28, as we were having a quiet stagette and just wanted to spend it around a campfire. I received an email back the next night saying yes, they had a cabin, and yes, they would rent it to us. That was as far as it got for a while. When I called to give them my credit card information, their voicemail was full, and remained full for the next three days. I sent an email asking them to call me, which they didn’t. When they finally cleared their voicemail, I left a message asking them to call me, which again, they didn’t. I finally got in touch with someone several days later, and the lady I spoke to was very rude. She refused to rent the cabin to a stagette and told us they didn’t do one night rentals. EVEN THOUGH I was previously told the cabin was ours to rent, and EVEN THOUGH I was extremely clear in my email that this was for a stagette, for one night only, and there was no information on their website saying they didn’t do one night rentals. I will not even bother with this campsite in the future… the staff was too disorganized and inconsiderate before I even got there. |
[1 / 5] July 2013 | The photo's on this site do not accurately depict the campground. They show a lake you swim in and a beach you can hang-out at but that is not the case. The beach does have some sand, but between the lake and the sand is 50 feet of 4 foot tall weeds. Then to top it off the lake shore is covered in 20 feet of thick algae. We couldn't even go in the lake.
The bathrooms were not very clean and did not seem to get cleaned very often. The campsite itself was OK, but it was very small. We just used the site as our base camp and had to go into Edmonton and Sherwood Park to find things to do because our plans of hanging out on the beach with our kids were clearly not an option.
You are better off to drive a little further and go to Long Lake provincial Park if you are looking for a campground with a beach. |
